His brother Hank is also a New York Times bestselling author, musician, and Emmy winner.

Dear Hank & John is a podcast that began in 2015 and quickly rose to the tops of the iTunes charts. The podcast is a mostly humorous advice show and it's a joy to listen to the two brothers every week as they obviously enjoy each others company.
